The SEC bowl projections following Week 6 of the season see the Georgia Bulldogs fall, Florida Gators rise, and the Alabama Crimson Tide continue to roll.
The Florida Gators picked up a tricky win on the road against Missouri, catapulting them into the Sugar Bowl in this week’s SEC bowl projections. The Gators then lost quarterback Will Grier for the remainder of the season, but have a more-than-capable backup in Treon Harris, who doesn’t have to be a world beater for the team. Jim McElwain will have a slightly different skill set to work with, but has proven successful over the years with any quarterback in his stable.
Georgia’s bowl projections took a hit with a second straight loss, this time to Tennessee on the road. In addition to the L, superstar Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb went down with a season-ending knee injury.
Alabama remains the pick for the College Football Playoff after stifling Arkansas, 27-14.
Below are the complete SEC bowl projections following Week 6. A total of 12 conferences teams are predicted to make the postseason as of now. South Carolina, which is in the market for a new coach after Steve Spurrier’s brupt retirement this week, and Vanderbilt are on the outside looking in.
