2015-16 SEC bowl projections following Week 5. There was plenty of chaos this past Saturday, including Florida's dominating win over Ole Miss.
The fifth week of the SEC football season was a wild one, highlighted by Florida running over the perceived best team in the conference in Ole Miss. It took new head coach Jim McElwain all of five games to record a statement win as the Gators head coach. Florida is on the rise, which is reflected in this week’s SEC bowl projections.
With the loss, the Rebels’ stock, which was at an all-time high after knocking off Alabama two weeks prior, took a hit. Ole Miss isn’t out of the College Football Playoff picture by any means, but the Rebels will need to play near perfect football from here on out.
Alabama bounced back in a huge way, dominating Georgia on the road. The Crimson Tide remain the conference favorite to make the College Football Playoff.
Below are the complete SEC bowl projections following Week 5. A total of 12 conferences teams are predicted to make the postseason as of now. South Carolina and Vanderbilt are on the outside looking in.
