    – Explanation of the College Football Season Rankings and the components

    128. Eastern Michigan Eagles, MAC

The Eagles came up with a stunning 48-29 blowout win at Wyoming, and that was it for the fun. They lost ten straight to close out the year including Bad Losses to Miami University, Army and UMass in games they needed to win to make the year interesting. The offense worked okay compared to several miserable teams, but it didn’t translate into wins.

    127. UCF Knights, American Athletic

In the most stunning disaster of the 2015 season, the team that was supposed to be a factor in the American Athletic race couldn’t come up with a win thanks to a horrendous offense that scored just 157 points. The Knights scores 31 on Tulane and 30 on Tulsa, and failed to crank 16 in any other game. There was a three-game run of Bad Losses to Furman, South Carolina and Tulane that almost put UCF on the bottom.

    126. Kansas Jayhawks, Big 12

It was supposed to be a disastrous first season for head coach David Beaty, but starting off with a loss to South Dakota State set the tone and it only got worse from there. They lost by double digits against everyone by SDSU and TCU, and they weren’t even close scoring just 183 points on the year and never got to have anything to enjoy. What kept the Jayhawks from being at the bottom? Losses to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and TCU.

    125. North Texas Mean Green, Conference USA

What happened to the offense? The Mean Green scored just 182 points on the season and only got more than 17 points three times. The lone win came at home against a bad UTSA team, while getting blown out at home by SMU and in a coach-killing 66-7 gaffe to Portland State were disastrous. UNT lost by 14 points or more in ten games.

    124. Charlotte 49ers, Conference USA

The 49ers started off the season 2-0, and then the bottom dropped out with ten straight losses the rest of the way. There were a few tight games with three point losses to Old Dominion and UTSA, but that was as close as anything got. The offense scored ten points or fewer six times and had a slew of Bad Losses, but the opening win over Georgia State on the road looked better and better as the season went on.

    123. Army West Point Black Knights, Independent

Adding the West Point to the name didn’t help. Opening up with a loss to Fordham at home and with losses to Tulane and Wake Forest killed the overall season score, and the two wins came against Bucknell and Eastern Michigan. The highlight was the dogfight with Navy to close out the season, but it was a season of disappointment with seven losses by seven points or fewer.

    122. ULM Warhawks, Sun Belt

A huge disappointment, the Warhawks were supposed to be a factor in the Sun Belt race and never got it going with the two wins coming against Nicholls State and New Mexico State. The defense wasn’t even close with the team losing by an average of over 20 points per game and with Bad Losses to Texas State and Hawaii in back-to-back weeks. At the very least, ULM got to make the trip to Honolulu.

T120. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Mountain West

Everything started out great with a thrilling win over Colorado, and a victory over UC Davis gave the Rainbow Warriors a 2-1 start, but that was it until the season finale against a bad ULM. The offense went bye-bye way too often with three shutouts and six games with 14 points or fewer, but the D was the issue in Bad Losses to UNLV and Fresno State.
