Jimmy Butler wasn’t going to let the 76ers lose a second straight game.

The All-Star forward drilled a 3-pointer in the final seconds to give Philadelphia a 127-125 win over the Nets. Butler finished the game with 34 points and 12 rebounds. He also tallied four steals.

The 76ers asserted themselves in the final quarter, outscoring the Nets 38-23 over the final frame. Butler didn’t miss a field goal in the fourth quarter, scoring 18 of his 34 points in the period. Joel Embiid added 32 points and 12 rebounds in Philadelphia’s win. D’Angelo Russell scored 38 points for Brooklyn in a losing effort.

Butler has been a welcome addition for the 76ers. Philadelphia was 9-6 before Butler played a game and is 5-2 with the forward. The 76ers have shot up to third in the East standings and will continue to rise.

Butler has moved on from his time in Minnesota and looks ready to roll with a contending team. If he can continue to provide this type of value in the fourth quarter, Butler will help a relatively young Philadelphia team grow up fast.
