The race for the nation’s No. 7 offensive guard and No. 149 overall player is heating up.

Four-star prospect Aaron Banks, from El Cerrito, California, revealed his top 10 schools on Monday night. Included in the mix was an independent power and programs from the Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC.

In alphabetical order, Banks’ final schools are Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and USC.

Banks also released a statement regarding his list.

“First, I would like to thank God for all of the opportunities I have been blessed with. I would also like to thank all of the coaches that have recruited me that did not make this list. Here is my top 10 at this point.”

The most recent unofficial visit Banks took was on Aug. 7 when he visited the Sun Devils. That came on the heels of a two-day trip to Ann Arbor for a closer look at Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines. And that visit to Michigan followed one to South Bend, where Banks visited Notre Dame less than two weeks after receiving an offer from Brian Kelly’s Fighting Irish.

With all of that taken into consideration, the favorite to land Banks’ commitment is still USC. Clay Helton’s staff currently has the No. 18-ranked class in the 2017 cycle with 15 total commits.

The Trojans currently have three offensive linemen pledged in the class: 4-star offensive tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker, 3-star offensive tackle Andrew Vorhees and 3-star center Brett Neilon.

Landing Banks would add 213 recruiting points and potentially put USC in the top 15 of the class rankings.
