Next week’s showdown in Louisville has potential to be one of college football’s best games of the season. For now, the Seminoles still sit ahead of the Cardinals in our ACC rankings with Clemson in between.
The Tigers are looking pretty vulnerable, though, after getting a scare from Troy. Here’s a look at how we see the rest of the ACC.

14. Virginia
The Cavaliers just couldn’t stop that tough Oregon offense.
13. Syracuse
The Orange got a full dose of Jackson and his abilities while being routed by Louisville.
12. North Carolina State
Even a loss to East Carolina can’t drop N.C. State behind those other two.
11. Boston College
Bounced back from last week’s tough loss to Georgia Tech by knocking off UMass.
10. Duke
Losing to Wake Forest at home was not a good way to start the ACC slate.
9. Wake Forest
The Demon Deacons have allowed 17 total points in their two wins.
8. Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets handled Mercer with ease.
7. Virginia Tech
Led Tennessee 14-0 after one quarter then completely fell apart at Bristol Motor Speedway.
6. Pittsburgh
Big win over Penn State as the schools renewed their rivalry. And James Conner continues to be a great story.
5. Miami
The Hurricanes picked up an easy win over FAU to move to 2-0.
4. North Carolina
Took advantage of 13 Illinois penalties to pick up a nice road win.
3. Louisville
Welcome to the Heisman race, Lamar Jackson.
2. Clemson
The Tigers couldn’t get their offense going – especially the running game – against Troy. Next week is another perceived layup against South Carolina State.
1. Florida State
The Seminoles are hoping Derwin James’ injury isn’t serious enough to keep him out for the showdown with Louisville.
