Alabama certainly shocked the recruiting world this past weekend when it landed a commitment from 5-star outside linebacker Dylan Moses — about three months ahead of when Moses was supposed to commit.

And while the nation’s No. 1 outside linebacker was enjoying Tuscaloosa and pledging to the Crimson Tide, another Alabama commit was on an official visit in Michigan.

Five-star recruit Alex Leatherwood, the nation’s No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 18 overall player, made it well known how much he enjoyed his trip to Ann Arbor this past weekend. He was on hand to see Jim Harbaugh’s team win a matchup against then-No. 8 Wisconsin, 14-7. Leatherwood recapped his visit to Ann Arbor by dubbing it as “the best” he’s ever taken.

“To be honest, my Michigan visit was, by far, the best visit I’ve ever been on — best fans and an amazing city. I’ll definitely be back,” he tweeted.

Michigan currently sits at No. 9 with 18 commits in the recruiting class rankings, whereas Alabama ranks No. 2 with 21 total commits. In addition to trying to persuade Leatherwood, the Wolverines have been attempting to flip 5-star running back Najee Harris from Alabama for a while, though at this time it doesn’t appear that’s going to happen.

From Leatherwood’s statement, one would gather Harbaugh has a solid chance to flip the 5-star offensive tackle from Nick Saban’s team. However, another threat to Alabama is the team Leatherwood will be visiting this upcoming weekend.

The Florida Gators will welcome Leatherwood to The Swamp on Saturday, October 8 when they host the LSU Tigers. The Gators have been trying to flip Leatherwood for some time now, and hope the Pensacola native’s home-state ties will be enough to woo him to Gainesville.

Leatherwood’s official visit in Tuscaloosa is set for Nov. 26 when the Crimson Tide hosts Auburn for the Iron Bowl, so Saban will likely have the last word.
