American Athletic Championship Game Tie-Breakers, Scenarios For 2015

American Athletic championship game tie-breakers and scenarios for 2015. The West is clear cut, but not the East. Find out which teams have a chance of winning each division.

A look at the American Athletic championship game tie-breakers and scenarios.

Houston’s win over Memphis is a big deal for the conference overall, but there was more craziness this last week that turned the season around.

The American Athletic Conference isn’t that hard to figure out on one side – the West is cut and dry. However, the East is still wild and crazy with Temple, Cincinnati, Connecticut, and now, with South Florida’s win over Temple, there’s another team in the mix. But the team to really watch out for? Connecticut. The Huskies are going to be deep in the hunt for the East title by winning out and getting a little bit of help.

Of course, the league would love nothing more than for Houston to win out and get into the New Year’s Six game – and maybe in the College Football Playoff discussion. But it’s been a great season overall for the conference, and the depth is starting to show.

Following are the American Athletic championship game tie-breakers and scenarios that could unfold down the home stretch.

    American East Scenarios

Temple wins with wins over Memphis or Connecticut. Or, with one win and one USF loss and a UConn loss (if the Owls lose to the Huskies).

    – South Florida wins with wins over Cincinnati and at UCF AND with one Temple loss. Or, wins by beating Cincinnati and with two Temple losses. Or, wins by beating UCF, and with two Temple losses, and a Cincinnati loss.

    – Cincinnati wins with wins over at USF and at East Carolina, AND with USF beating UCF, AND with Temple losing to Memphis and Connecticut, AND with Connecticut beating Houston.

    – Connecticut wins with wins over Houston and Temple, AND with Cincinnati losing once, AND with South Florida losing once.

    American West Scenarios

    – The Navy vs. Houston winner takes the West. It doesn’t matter if Navy loses at Tulsa or Houston loses to UConn.
