One game ball won’t cut it tonight. Five are going to be necessary.

There were plenty of heroes in this one for TCU, but none more central to the victory than the front wall. The Horned Frogs absolutely dominated the game at the line of scrimmage, paving the way for a statement victory that’s going to be very well-received by the committee between now and Tuesday night.

Who’d possibly know from looking at the box score, but TCU played tonight’s showdown with Kansas State sans leading rusher—and underrated receiver—B.J. Catalon? Yet, the Frogs still managed to establish a season-high with well over 300 yards on the ground. And they did it against the Wildcats, which began the weekend ranked No. 2 in Big 12 run defense.

Former Nebraska transfer Aaron Green was unstoppable, and QB Trevone Boykin was his usually slippery self in the open field.

Neither result would have been possible if not for the blocking of the TCU O-line, which made sure that whoever had the ball in his hands was going to see a ton of daylight.

Now that TCU has cleared its biggest remaining hurdle, with plenty of room to spare, it should coast to an improbable 11-1 regular season. Whether that’ll be enough to land a playoff berth remains to be seen, but the Frogs have taken care of business in Week 11 by rolling up their sleeves and beating Kansas State at its own blue-collar game.
