    1. Connecticut dominated everywhere but on the scoreboard, controlling the clock and the tempo. However, the Huskies were down 10-3 in the second before cranking up 19 straight points. Arkeel Newsome ran for a ten-yard score and Ron Johnson ran for a two-yard touchdown
    2. Army was all about the big play. Ahmad Bradshaw took off for a 56-yard scoring run, and pulled within five late on a 71-yard Joe Walker catch and run for a score. UConn was able to hold.
    3. Bobby Puyol hit three field goals for the Huskies from 23, 25 and 39 yards out

    – Joe Walker was the second-leading rusher with 24 yards on four carries, and caught one pass for a 71-yard score

    – Bryant Shirreffs completed 19-of-25 passes for 270 yards

    – Arkeel Newson ran 13 times for 73 yards and a score

    – The Huskies outgained Army 415 yards to 265
