    1. Dak Prescott found De’Runnya Wilson for a 17-yard touchdown pass and found Gabe Myles for a 32-yard score for a 14-0 first half lead and all the points Mississippi State would need. The Bulldogs were able to all but put it away in the third on a 44-yard Westin Graves field goal.

    2. Auburn was able to move the ball, but it shot itself in the foot deep into MSU territory a few times and could only managed three Daniel Carlson field goals from 30, 25 and 51 yards out.

    3. Mississippi State recovered the onside kick and was able to get out with a tough, grinding win.

    – Dak Prescott completed 29-of-41 passes for 270 yards and two scores, and ran six times for 14 yards.

    – Fred Ross caught seven passes for 66 yards and Brandon Holloway led the way with 42 yards on five carries.

    – LB Richie Brown made 13 tackles with two sacks and three tackles for loss.

    Auburn

    – Sean White completed 20-of-28 passes for 188 yards with a pick, and ran 11 times for 29 yards.

    – Peyton Barber ran 27 times for 137 yards.

    – Auburn outgained MSU 389 yards to 326.
