It’s hard not to love the 12-5 matchups in March Madness. Every year (save last season) it feels as though at least one No. 12 seed catches a trendy No. 5 off guard and makes it to the first weekend. After claiming the Ivy League regular season title – the last year that the league’s regular season champion will be guaranteed to go dancing – Yale is catching some eyeballs.

Baylor is certainly well-tested, having spent an entire season battling in the Big 12. However, whenever the Bears come across a team better than them they tend to crumble – Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Texas A&M and Oregon all boast wins over Baylor. Then again, a team who knows how to take care of business against lesser opponents should be just fine in a 5-12 game, right?

I’m going to make this pick happen. Every time Baylor gets in I think it’s going to roll, and it’s done okay other than last season’s quick exit. This year the Bears are going to the Regional Final.

Ray Crawford

For the Bears sake, I hope Rico Gathers will put on hold those football practice sessions. They’ll advance against Yale, but will need all hands on deck to get past Duke in game two.

Shae Peppler

1962 was the Bulldogs’ last appearance, so Yale is coming in with a chip on its shoulder. They have a powerful big guy in Sears, but Baylor takes care of it.

Ken Bikoff

The Bears’ length and quickness will be too much for Ivy Leaguers Yale to handle.

Jordan Cornette

Don’t let the name fool you, these are tough kids – tough enough to upset Baylor in the first round.
