Big 12 football predictions and schedule for Week 10 of the 2016 season. Now that Baylor and West Virginia have fallen from the ranks of the undefeated, the race for a conference title has become wide open with only five weeks left to play.
With losses by Baylor and West Virginia, the Big 12 becomes Oklahoma’s to lose in what is now a five team race. Both the Sooners and Mountaineers face off against Big 12 bottom-feeders this week when they take on Iowa State and Kansas, repsectively.
The two highest profile matchups this week can be seen as almost conference title elimination games, as Oklahoma State travels to the Little Apple to face Kansas State, while Baylor welcomes TCU. While the Horned Frogs are out of the race with three conference losses, you know Gary Patterson would like nothing more than to put a dent in Baylor’s title chances while also taking the lead in the all-time series (currently tied 52-52-7).
Bill Snyder and Co. need a win against Ok State if they want to remain in the title hunt, having already lost to Oklahoma earlier in the year and sitting with two conference loses. Oklahoma State controls its own destiny and could set up a de facto conference title game heading into Bedlam should it win the next three games.
