Week 12 Big Ten football picks and spreads. This Saturday is highlighted by a huge showdown in Columbus between the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes and 9-1 Michigan State Spartans. The Buckeyes are looking to win their 24th game in a row and stay in position for a spot in the College Football Playoff, while the Spartans are trying to ruin the fun and get to the Big Ten Championship game themselves. Rutgers vs. Army

Date: Saturday, November 21

Kickoff: 12:00 p.m. ET

Venue: Michie Stadium

The Scarlet Knights have a good run defense, but will be facing the Black Knights’ option attack that gives opponents fits. Rutgers will slightly figure it out in the second for the win.

Pick: Rutgers

Iowa vs. Purdue

Date: Saturday, November 21

Kickoff: 12:00 p.m. ET

Venue: Kinnick Stadium

The undefeated Hawkeyes have a a tough defense and an offense that simply runs the ball. The Boilermakers have given up 632 rushing yards the past two games, which smells trouble for their upset hopes. Iowa keeps rolling.

Pick: Iowa

Indiana vs. Maryland

Date: Saturday, November 21

Kickoff: 12:00 p.m. ET

Venue: Byrd Stadium

The Hoosiers are still in the hunt for a bowl game, while the Terrapins have had an awful season, highlighted by the dismissal of Coach Randy Edsall. Maryland will look to pass the ball against an Indiana defense that can’t stop anyone, while the Hoosiers look to take advantage of the Terrapins’ knack for turning the ball over. Indiana grabs a win on the road.

Minnesota vs. Illinois

Venue: TCF Bank Stadium

Both offenses have hit a wall, with the Golden Gophers running game nowhere to be found as of late. If the Illinois pass defense plays up to speed, the Illini can pull the upset. But it’s at home, which will help lift Minnesota to the win.

Michigan vs. Penn State

Venue: Beaver Stadium

Penn State will look good early, behind solid play Christian Hackenberg, but Michigan will slowly lean on and wear down the Nittany Lions. Harbaugh’s defense will be the difference in this one.

Wisconsin vs. Northwestern

Venue: Camp Randall Stadium

Northwestern depends on the running game to move the ball, and that will be tough against a Badgers defense that just doesn’t give up much on the ground. The Wildcats will stop the run as well, and make Badgers QB Joel Stave win the game, which he will.

Ohio State vs. Michigan State

Venue: Ohio Stadium

The Spartans defense is solid, but can it contain Buckeyes RB Ezekiel Elliott and all the weapons Ohio State has on offense? Simple answer: no. The Buckeyes finally flex some muscle behind the home crowd and with the nation watching.
