    Nov. 8 Ohio State 49, at Michigan State 37 
    And You Care Because … Ohio State’s offense was unstoppable as J.T. Barrett threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more, and Ezekiel Elliott came up with two second half scoring runs on the way to a shocking win. Michigan State’s offense kept up for a while, helped by Jeremy Langford touchdown runs from 33 yards out in the first and one yard away in the second, but Barrett found Michael Thomas on a 79-yard touchdown pass and closed out the first half on a 44-yard scoring play to Devin Smith for a 28-21 lead. MSU pulled within four on a 40-yard Michael Geiger field goal, and then it was all about the OSU O the rest of the way, even with the Spartans getting a 16-yard Josiah Price touchdown catch and a one-yard touchdown from Langford in the fourth. 
    What Else? Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett completed 16-of-26 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns, and ran 14 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns 
    – Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford ran 18 times for 137 yards and three touchdowns 
    – Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott ran 23 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns 
    – Third down conversions: Ohio State 10-of-14 – Michigan State 8-of-15

    Nov. 8 Michigan 10, at Northwestern 9 
    And You Care Because … Down seven, Northwestern got a three-yard Tony Jones touchdown catch with three seconds to play. Instead of trying for the tie with the extra point, the Wildcats went for the win and the two-point conversion, but QB Trevor Siemian slipped, fell down, and Michigan came away with the win. Michigan started the scoring on a three-yard De’Veon Smith run midway through the third, and the two teams traded field goals in the fourth, with Matt Wile putting the Wolverines ahead with just over three minutes to play on a 37-yard field goal. NU went 74 yards in 14 plays for the touchdown before the ill-fated conversion attempt. 
    What Else? Michigan RB De’Veon Smith ran 18 times for 121 yards and a score 
    – Third down conversions: Northwestern 10-of-21 – Michigan 1-of-12 
    – Northwestern QB Trevor Siemian completed 32-of-49 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions 
    – Michigan QB Devin Gardner completed 11-of-24 passes for 109 yards and two picks

    Nov. 8 Wisconsin 34, at Purdue 16 
    And You Care Because … Melvin Gordon ran for a 14-yard score and took a pass 27 yards for a score as Wisconsin got up in the first quarter and stayed there. Joel Stave threw two touchdown passes, and Tanner McEvoy ran for a 13-yard score as Wisconsin always had an answer for Purdue points. The Boilermakers got three Paul Griggs field goals including bombs from 53 and 52 yards out, and Akeem Hunt caught a 79-yard touchdown pass for the Boilermakers, but they couldn’t get closer than eight points after the second quarter. 
    What Else? Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon ran 25 times for 205 yards and a score, and caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown 
    – Purdue QB Austin Appleby completed 17-of-37 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown 
    – Wisconsin LB Vince Biegel made seven tackles with three sacks and four tackles for loss 
    – Rushing yards: Wisconsin 264 – Purdue 26

    Nov. 8 Penn State 13, at Indiana 7 
    And You Care Because … Sam Ficken hit second half field goals from 27 and 28 yards out, and Bill Belton tore off a 92-yard touchdown run as Penn State pushed past Indiana. The Hoosier offense couldn’t get on the board, but the defense scored first with a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown from Mark Murphy, but that was it. The Nittany Lion D controlled the second half. 
    What Else? Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg completed 12-of-29 passes for 168 yards and two picks 
    – Indiana RB Tevin Coleman ran 20 times for 71 yards 
    – Total yards: Penn State 330 – Indiana 221 
    – Indiana QB Zander Diamont completed 13-of-27 passes for 68 yards and two picks

    Nov. 8 at Minnesota 51, Iowa 14 
    And You Care Because … Iowa got up 7-0 on a one-yard Mark Weisman touchdown run, and then it was the Maxx Williams show as the tight end caught three touchdown passes as part of a Minnesota run of 51 points. KJ Maye started out the scoring on a nine-yard run, and David Cobb rumbled for a six-yard score, but Williams was the star with touchdown catches from nine, four and three yards out. Mitch Leidner also found Donovahn Jones for a 44-yard touchdown. Iowa didn’t get back on the board until there were 14 seconds remaining on a 24-yard Andrew Stone catch. 
    What Else? Minnesota TE Maxx Williams caught five passes for 46 yards and three touchdowns 
    – Iowa QB Jake Rudock completed 10-of-19 passes for 89 yards and a pick 
    – Minnesota QB Mitch Leidner completed 10-of-13 passes for 138 yards and four touchdowns, and ran 11 times for a team-high 77 yards 
    – Time of possession: Minnesota 36:42 – Iowa 23:18
