Former Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis has joined the Jacksonville Jaguars coaching staff and will assist with special teams.

The wait in the unemployment line for Bo Davis lasted about as long as a stick of gum.

Three months after he resigned as Alabama’s defensive line coach, Davis has been hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a coaching intern and will help coach special teams.

Davis handed in his letter of resignation this offseason after the university began looking into potential NCAA recruiting violations. He was eventually replaced by Karl Dunbar, who has spent 11 of the last 12 seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, with a brief pit-stop at LSU during the 2005 season.

As for Davis, he hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2006 when he served on Saban’s staff with the Miami Dolphins. After that, he followed Saban to Tuscaloosa before spending three seasons with the Texas Longhorns and one season with the USC Trojans.

When Davis resigned from his position with Alabama, Saban thanked his former assistant for all the hard work he’d put in over the years.

As of June 2, the Crimson Tide were still awaiting a report from the NCAA regarding any possible violations that might have occurred while Davis was a member of the staff.
