Can Boston College finally win another ACC game? Will the offense be able to catch up with the defense? Check out the preseason predictions for every game.

Sept. 3 vs. Georgia Tech (Dublin, Ireland)

Is this a home game for Boston College with the contest being played in Ireland? Of course not, but it’ll get a whole offseason to prepare and get ready for the Georgia Tech ground game. They’ll battle, but the Eagles won’t quite have the offense rolling yet to pull off the win.

Preseason Prediction: Georgia Tech 20, Boston College 16

    Sept. 10 at Massachusetts

It’s a local game being paid in Foxboro, and it’ll be fun time for a BC offense looking for something positive to build on. The defense will do its part, but it’ll be the passing game that has the most success in a blowout win.

Preseason Prediction: Boston College 45, Massachusetts 10

    Sept. 17 at Virginia Tech

Consider this the theme of the season again. The defense will keep it close, but the offense won’t be able to quite do enough to capitalize on its key chances. The Hokies will get up early and the Eagles won’t be able to get back in the game.

Preseason Prediction: Virginia Tech 27, Boston College 10

    Sept. 24 vs. Wagner

Sort of like the UMass game, Boston College’s offense will open it up and show off its potential. It’s a great time to get into more of a groove, and it’ll matter down the road in ACC play. This will help sharpen the team up.

Preseason Prediction: Boston College 37, Wagner 3

    Oct. 1 vs. Buffalo

This is a good Buffalo team with enough of a defense to give it a run in the MAC. There won’t be a blowout chance, and the Eagles will have to work for a full four quarters, but they’ll be in control throughout.

Preseason Prediction: Boston College 26, Buffalo 10

    Oct. 7 vs. Clemson

Can BC do something special in a strangely-timed Friday night game? It’ll be hard for Clemson to get things rolling on a consistent basis – at least as much as it might like to – but it won’t take too many scoring drives to put this away.

Preseason Prediction: Clemson 27, Boston College 13

    Oct. 22 vs. Syracuse

The bye week will be the difference in a surprisingly offensive game. The Orange will hit the Eagles hard with a few surprising big plays, but the BC offense will kick in, too. Yes, the 2016 Boston College Eagle will win an ACC game.

Preseason Prediction: Boston College 34, Syracuse 27

    Oct. 29 at NC State

Boston College won’t get a shot to be too heady after getting an ACC win over Syracuse – everything will come to a halt on the road against the Wolfpack. State’s defensive front will come up with an outstanding performance, combining with the grinding ground game to pound away for the win.

Preseason Prediction: NC State 28, Boston College 20

    Nov. 5 vs. Louisville

Will the Cardinals have a problem against the Eagles on the road? This is the time to focus for Louisville, but it’ll have to get down and dirty in a rough and tough game. BC won’t be able to pull it off, but it’ll throw a heck of a scare into a team good enough to win the ACC title.

Preseason Prediction: Louisville 26, Boston College 17

    Nov. 11 at Florida State

It’s an odd Friday night game that’ll require FSU to actually try. This won’t be a defensive dogfight like last year’s 14-0 Seminole win, but it’ll take a few quarters to open it up.

Preseason Prediction: Florida State 37, Boston College 6

    Nov. 19 vs. Connecticut

Don’t expect much from the passing games. The UConn secondary is going to be stellar, but the offense won’t be able to do enough up front to scare the Eagles. BC will need to battle, but it’ll be better defensively – surprise – to win a low-scoring game that’ll come down to field goals.

Preseason Prediction: Boston College 19, UConn 13

    Nov. 26 at Wake Forest

Can BC get its second ACC win of the year? It’ll have to for a bowl appearance, looking for the key sixth win on the road. It’ll get it with a ball control, efficient game without a lot of fireworks, but it’ll be just like the Eagles want it.

Preseason Prediction: Boston College 23, Wake Forest 17

    2016 Prediction: 6-6
    2016 ACC Prediction: 2-6
