Brett McMurphy’s AP Top 25 Ballot for Week 10

The casualties keep piling up in the top 25 rankings. This weekend seven ranked teams lost, including three in the top 10, making a total of 21 ranked teams that have lost over the past three weeks.

Because of those losses, my Associated Press Top 25 ballot has a much, much different look this week – especially near the top.

Ohio State moves up to No. 2 on my ballot behind No. 1 LSU, while Penn State cracks the top five at No. 5. Also, No. 7 Oregon, No. 9 Baylor and No. 10 Utah all move into my top 10.

The biggest climbers in my rankings this week, however, are a pair of Big Ten schools: Minnesota and Michigan. The Gophers jump from No. 18 to No. 11, while the Wolverines move from No. 25 to No. 18.

Three team are new to my top 25 rankings this week: No. 22 Kansas State, No. 24 Memphis and No. 25 San Diego State. Those schools replace three schools that dropped from my rankings: Texas, Iowa State and Arizona State.

My AP ballot (last week):
