The Good

Nobody wants to play Butler in the NCAA Tournament. This is a team that is as unselfish as any you’ll find, and the Bulldogs’ ability to have someone different step up when the team needs it most is amazing. Kellen Dunham and Kelan Martin are a one-two punch few teams can handle, and Roosevelt Jones has the experience and fire to wear down teams that keep waiting to take a breath.

The Bad

When Butler loses, it’s because its shooting disappears and teams force the Bulldogs out of their comfort zone. Butler’s defense can lose focus at times, too, and it can’t afford to simply try to outscore everyone in the NCAA Tournament. This is a battle-tested club that may be getting a bit tired, too.

Butler has struggled to beat top teams this season, which means the Bulldogs might stick around for a game before running into trouble when the competition cranks up. Butler’s success will depend on what happens on the other side of the bracket. An upset could open the door, otherwise, the Bulldogs will be one-and-done.
