I like Toledo here. The Rockets have laid waste to all three opponents they’ve faced thus far – granted, Arkansas State, Maine and Fresno State aren’t really murderer’s row – and have one of the best aerial attacks in the nation. Meanwhile, outside of a tight victory over Arizona in Week 1, BYU has found a knack for losing close games – their three losses coming by an average of 2.3 points.

Toledo enters the game well-rested, coming off a bye, while BYU is on a short week after traveling cross-country to Landover, Maryland only to lose to West Virginia. This will be close, with the Rockets outlasting the Cougars.

With as much experience as Taysom Hill has, it’s difficult to imagine BYU dropping a game at home to Toledo. Even with the Rockets being No. 7 in the nation in total defense, I’m going with the Cougars. Hill will do his part through the air, and Jamaal Williams will fight for the tough yardage on the ground. BYU takes this one by 10.

BYU has played a brutal schedule thus far. The Cougars’ three losses have come at the hands of Utah, UCLA and West Virginia by a combined seven points. Turnovers have dogged the BYU offense, though the defense has forced a good number of giveaways as well. Taysom Hill plays a relatively clean game and helps deliver the Cougars a win.

If Toledo head coach Jason Candle doesn’t have “Rocket Man” as his ringtone, I will be very disappointed. This will be a tough test for the Rockets, as both the BYU crowd and the Provo altitude make it difficult to beat the Cougars at home. 14th-year-senior quarterback (or so it seems) Taysom Hill will send the Rockets defense soaring back to the bench after giving up a few touchdowns, and Elton John will ironically call BYU to wish them congratulations on the victory.
