Former Clemson RB Tyshon Dye To Visit Miami

Former Clemson running back Tyshon Dye will take an official visit to ACC rival Miami while deciding where he will spend his final year of eligibility.

Former Clemson running back Tyshon Dye may stay in the ACC when deciding where to spend his final year of eligibility.

Dye, who will be eligible immediately due to the NCAA graduate transfer rules, will make an official visit to Miami this weekend to meet with head coach Mark Richt and the Hurricanes coaching staff, including running backs coach Thomas Brown.

“They [Miami] are coming at me the hardest,” Dye said. “I hear from coach Brown every other day it seems. Coach Richt told me if they didn’t have a need for me he wouldn’t waste my or their time. I’m looking forward to seeing how it is there. Seeing if I can live there for the next year. And most of all seeing their depth chart and how much I can really be used there.”

Dye has also been in contact with SMU and head coach Chad Morris, who was the offensive coordinator at Clemson and offered Dye a scholarship with the Tigers. Georgia Southern, a program built on the option rushing attack, is also garnering some interest from Dye.

“Coach Morris sent me a text the other week asking if I’m still interested and I told him yes,” Dye said. “Then he sent me a text a week later saying how they could use me.”

During his time at Clemson, Dye rushed for 351 yards and five touchdowns on 76 attempts.
