College football bowl picks and score predictions for the January 2nd bowl games.
College football bowl picks and score predictions for January 2nd, including the offensive shootout in San Antonio between TCU and Oregon.
What do the Bulldogs even have to play for in this bowl? Mark Richt is gone after a 15-year stint in Athens, Ga., and new coach Kirby Smart isn’t finished working toward putting the finishing touches on another potential championship for Alabama. Penn State is more stable than a transitioning Georgia team, and that will help it earn a win.
Pick: Penn State 20, Georgia 17
Line: Georgia -7, o/u: 41.5
Quietly, the Razorbacks and head coach Bret Bielema had an excellent second half of the season, and they’re on a roll coming into the Liberty Bowl. This one could get ugly early, as the Wildcats don’t have the hogs (sorry!) to keep up with Arkansas.
Pick: Arkansas 45, Kansas State 24
Line: Arkansas -11.5, o/u: 56.5

This is one of the more intriguing matchups this bowl season, especially if you’re a fan of offense and a lot of points. Vernon Adams will provide some fireworks, but with Trevone Boykin’s recent off-the-field trouble, the Horned Frogs might be in hot water. Oregon wins a close one.
Pick: Oregon 41, TCU 39
Line: TCU -1, o/u: 78
This will be a road game for West Virginia, who will have to play in the Sun Devils’ backyard at the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field. Advantage: Todd Graham’s team. Arizona State will put on for the home fans and scratch out a victory.
Pick: Arizona State 37, West Virginia 30
Line: Arizona State -1, o/u: 65.5
