There are a lot of things I am looking forward to in my upcoming trip home to Kentucky, but I must admit that atop the list is the fact that my designated bedroom in my parents’ house is blacked out from all sunlight. Mr. Fixer-Upper – The Notre Dame defense was average this season, and head coach Brian Kelly has brought in Wake Forest defensive coordinator Mike Elko to fix the bleeding. Elko’s Demon Deacon defense gave up just 21.8 points per game this season.
“Mike has consistently coordinated defenses that keep the points down, negate big plays, create negative plays, excel in the red zone and, quite simply, force opposing offensives to execute at an extremely high level to move the football,” Kelly said in a statement.
Not Done Yet, Or Is He? – LSU wide receiver Malachi Dupre was quick to point out that reports of him deciding to go pro after this season are false, as the junior has not made up his mind as of yet.
“I didn’t say that. I didn’t tell anyone that,” Dupre said. “That report is not true. I’m undecided.”
Make That Three – With LSU running back Leonard Fournette and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey already decided to skip their respective bowl games, another back, Baylor’s Shock Linwood, has decided to do the same so he can focus on the NFL Draft.
Linwood became the all-time leading rusher at Baylor with 4,213 yards, but had a down season with only 751 yards and two touchdowns.
