My friends and colleagues have been making fun of my lack of Snapchat skills. During vacation, they said it was too boring because it was basically just pictures of a beer or food and that they wanted more excitement. I have now learned how to put filters on the pictures and the fact that you can take video with it. Yes, I’m slow, but I am old and learning.

In college football news, we take a look at which assistants Alabama will miss during the 2017 season, Clemson transfer running back Tyshon Dye is taking an official visit to Miami, and Penn State head coach James Franklin and his assistants did a heck of a troll job on Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy. Here are some other newsworthy notes around college football.

So You’re Saying There’s a Chance? – Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer regularly attracts some of the top talent in the nation when recruiting, but after all these years, he is aware that when a prospect gives a verbal commitment it might not mean much.

“It’s almost like when they commit to me, I put a 30 percent chance on whether that is actually going to happen,” Meyer said. “So, it is unusual to be able to hang on to an out-of-state guy for over a year because people just wear him out.”

    The recruiting game never stops.

See You, Miami – The Miami Hurricanes will enter the 2017 season lacking experience in the secondary, but one player who won’t help fill a spot is defensive back Cedrick Wright. The school announced on Monday Wright will not be returning to the team.

“I talked to Cedrick, and we both felt it was in his best interests to get a fresh start somewhere else,” head coach Mark Richt said. “We wish him all the best in his future plans.”

And Then There Were Seven – Former Clemson defensive lineman Scott Pagano announced his intentions to transfer just last week, and he has already narrowed down his choice to where he will spend his final year of eligibility to seven schools: Arkansas, Cal, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas.

The Hawaii native was a part-time starter for the Tigers during their national championship run.
