It has become a running joke in the office about me mentioning the fact that I fractured my heel back in September and am still in a walking boot. I made a mistake of posting a picture of my foot getting massaged at physical therapy and … well, let’s just say that brought out a few people with foot fetishes. Lesson to kids: everything become innuendo on the internet.

In college football, the next-to-last College Football Playoff rankings were released with Alabama unsurprisingly still on top, Jarrett Stidham was in Auburn visiting the Tigers who are one of the favorites to land him, and we take a look at a wish list for Oregon for its next head coach. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Dabo Got No Time For That – Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney took time out of his press conference on Tuesday to do what all coaches likely feel like doing at times during their careers: slam the media.

A Tigers player was accused of using racial slurs at the Palmetto Bowl against South Carolina, and Swinney said the media paying attention to that story has taken away from a big win against the rival Gamecocks.

“I give young people some grace,” Swinney said. “They’ll say some things from time to time. My problem is with the media people. I don’t give them much grace. They don’t give me none either.”

Staying Put In Dallas – Chad Morris was seemingly going to be the next coach at Baylor before the SMU head coach had a change of heart and decided to stay with the Mustangs. Morris just completed his second season in charge at SMU and is considering one of the best offensive minds in the game.

Bermuda, Bahama, Come On Pretty Mama – The Eastern Michigan Eagles are going to a bowl game for the first time since 1987 and only the second time in the program’s history, so you would expect the players to be a little excited. The fact that they get to go to the Bahamas? Yeah, that got them pretty damn pumped.

I’m now pitching the idea that I should follow the Eagles around during their bowl escapade and write up a big story on it. Fingers crossed.
