With all due respect to Colorado, this picks column absolutely must begin with a discussion of UConn. Come March, it takes nothing short of a silver bullet to drop the Huskies. Their AAC Tournament game against Cincinnati was one of the most incredible contests of the year. Had they not won the conference tournament, that game alone would have put them squarely in March Madness. Alas, they won and are dancing regardless.

The Buffaloes come from a deep Pac-12. Considering they’ve notched victories over Oregon, Arizona and Cal, Colorado is certainly a dangerous 8-seed that could make some noise. This figures to be a wildly entertaining first-round game.

As for Colorado vs. UConn picks, here’s what the Campus Insiders staff thinks will happen.

    Pete Fiutak

The Buffs will give UConn a push, but they’ll get bounced out of the first round in a thriller.

    Ray Crawford

The first 22-win regular season ever in Boulder, but the Buffs journey ends in their opener against UConn.

    Shae Peppler

Historically Colorado has struggled in the tourney, and this year is no different. UConn wins this first round matchup convincingly.

    Ken Bikoff

The Huskies are on a roll and rarely lose in the first round. They have a 4-0 record as a lower seed in the first round all-time.

    Jordan Cornette

UConn – Damn Daniel … Hamilton is tough.
