    And You Care Because … In a wild finish, Old Dominion tied it on a Ray Lawry two-yard score with just over a minute remaining. FIU QB Alex McGough was picked off by Fellonte Misher, and ODU needed little time to get a 28-yard Satchel Ziffer field goal for the win as time ran out. Taylor Heinicke ran for a one-yard score and found Antonio Vaughan for a 74-yard touchdown, but the Monarchs were hit by 20 straight points from FIU on two McGough touchdown passes and two Austin Taylor field goals for a 27-21 lead. The two teams traded touchdowns before ODU took over in the final 1:05.
    What Else? Old Dominion QB Taylor Heinicke completed 20-of-35 passes for 315 yards and two scores, and he ran 13 times for 52 yards and a touchdown 
    – FIU QB Alex McGough completed 8-of-13 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns with a pick, and he ran 16 times for 49 yards and a touchdown 
    – Old Dominion RB Ray Lawry ran 18 times for 142 yards and two touchdowns 
    – FIU RB Anthon Samuel ran 25 times for 137 yards and a touchdown

    Nov. 8 at WKU 35, UTEP 27 
    And You Care Because … Brandon Doughty threw three touchdown passes – with two coming in a run of 21 unanswered points – and Wonderful Terry stopped a UTEP drive with a 90-yard pick six that turned the tide of the game. Doughty also found Joel German for a 50-yard touchdown in the first, but UTEP got up 20-7 helped by Autrey Golden return following the German score. But it was all WKU the rest of the way going on a 28-7 scoring run starting out with a two-yard Leon Allen dash. 
    What Else? WKU QB Brandon Doughty completed 23-of-34 passes for 324 yards and three scores 
    – Rushing yards: UTEP 236 yards and two scores – WKU 35 yards and a score 
    – UTEP QB Jameill Showers completed 9-of-22 passes for 158 yards and a pick, and he ran seven times for 36 yards 
    – Tim of possession: UTEP 36:33 – WKU 23:27

    Nov. 8 Louisiana Tech 40, at UAB 24 
    And You Care Because … Louisiana Tech got three Kenneth Dixon touchdown runs in the first half and pulled away in the second half with two Cody Sokol touchdown passes. UAB came up with a six-yard Jordan Howard touchdown run in the second quarter, but the offense struggled in the second half needing a 56-yard Jake Ganus fumble return for a score and a Jamarcus Nelson kickoff return for a touchdown to keep it interesting. 
    What Else? Louisiana Tech RB Kenneth Dixon ran 15 times for 79 yards and three touchdowns 
    – UAB RB Jordan Howard ran 27 times for 148 yards and a score 
    – Louisiana Tech QB Cody Sokol completed 19-of-33 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns with a pick 
    – UAB QB Cody Clements completed 22-of-36 passes for 186 and a score

    Nov. 8 at Rice 17, UTSA 7 
    And You Care Because … Rice got a score in each of the first three quarters as Driphus Jackson ran for a nine-yard score in the first and threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Mario Hull in the third, and James Farrimond hit a 37-yard field goal in the second. The defense did the rest, only allowing a 24-yard Kenny Bias touchdown catch in the fourth. The Owls dominated the clock and the game throughout. 
    What Else? Time of possession: Rice 41:10 – UTSA 18:50 
    – Rice RB Jowan Davis ran 25 times for 121 yards 
    – UTSA QBs combined to complete 17-of-32 passes for 153 yards and a score 
    – Rice QB Driphus Jackson completed 18-of-28 passes for 213 yards and a score with a pick, and ran 15 times for 48 yards and a touchdown

    Nov. 8 at North Texas 31, Florida Atlantic 10 
    And You Care Because … Antoinne Jimmerson ran for a 41-yard touchdown and Andrew McNulty threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Smith and ran for a four-yard score on the way to a 21-3 North Texas lead. FAU’s offense struggled and sputtered all game long outside of a third quarter drive finishing with a 34-yard Alex Deleon touchdown catch. UNT scored ten unanswered points in the fourth to put it away. 
    What Else? Total yards: North Texas 342 – Florida Atlantic 197 
    – North Texas RB Antoinne Jimmerson ran 17 times for 111 yards and a score
    – FAU QB Jaquez Johnson completed 14-of-25 passes for 99 yards and a score with a pick 
    – North Texas QB Andrew McNulty completed 12-of-16 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown with an interception, and ran four times for 14 yards and a score 
    Game Rating: C-

    Nov. 8 Marshall 63, at Southern Miss 17 
    And You Care Because … Southern Miss got up 14-0 on two, two-yard runs from Ito Smith, but it was all Marshall the rest of the way on a 63-3 run with Remi Watson running for three short scores and Rakeem Cato throwing two first half touchdown passes and running for a ten yard score. Steward Butler tore off touchdown runs from 30 yards out in the second quarter and 83 yards in the fourth. The Herd scored 42 unanswered points. 
    What Else? Marshall QB Rakeem Cato completed 13-of-19 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and he ran nine times for 92 yards and a score
    – Southern Miss RB Ito Smith ran 27 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns 
    – Marshall RB Stewart Butler ran five times for 118 yards and two touchdowns 
    – Southern Miss QB Cole Weeks completed 11-of-19 passes for 114 yards with a pick
