    Why You Need To Care

Someone is getting out of Bright House Networks with a streak-busting win on Saturday afternoon. Connecticut has lost three in a row, trumped only by the winless start to 2015 of UCF. The Knights are quickly circling the drain, with one foot already in the offseason. The Huskies, though, can use this trip to Orlando to reach .500 at the halfway point of the season.

    Why Connecticut Will Win

While injury-riddled UCF is a wreck, having already lost to Florida International, Furman and Tulane, the Huskies have been competitive. The defense has been feisty and opportunistic, yielding fewer than 20 points per game. And it’ll keep a lagging Knight attack in check this weekend.

    Why UCF Will Win

The Knights will be looking to build off last week’s finish in New Orleans. True, the offense didn’t wake up until the fourth quarter of a blowout, but backup QB Tyler Harris did find rookie WR D’erren Wilson for three scoring strikes. It could be the impetus for UCF to outscore a UConn team that’s yet to score more than 22 points in a game.

    Player Who Matters

The UCF O-line, like much of the rest of the team, has been horrifyingly bad through five games. UConn will seize the opportunity to harass Harris with a combination of blue-collar linemen Julian Campenni and Folorunso Fatukasi and linebacker blitzes if it becomes necessary.

    What’s Going To Happen?

Keeping UCF on the mat is an opportunity Connecticut will not squander. The Huskies, who need this victory to remain in the postseason hunt, will suffocate the Knight offense and ride a workmanlike effort from RB Arkeel Newsome to their first win in a month.
