The NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee announced the top 16 teams in college basketball Saturday afternoon on its third annual Bracket Preview Show, giving fans an early glimpse of which teams are currently in position to earn top seeds on Selection Sunday.
The committee evaluated teams’ resumes through Friday’s games.
Duke, Tennessee, Virginia and Gonzaga earned No. 1 seeds in the top 16 reveal.

Virginia Tech, which is ranked No. 10 in the NET on Saturday, was the highest-ranked team in the NET that didn’t make the top 16 seeds in the Bracket Preview Show.
Marquette (No. 21 NET) was the lowest-ranked school the made the cut.
Both teams are a reminder that resumes – meaning wins and losses, not just rankings in advanced metrics – are important factors in the selection and seeding of teams in the NCAA Tournament.
The Hokies are 3-4 in Quadrant 1 games, while the Golden Eagles are 7-3.
