Five-star power forward Jaden McDaniels committed to Washington over Kentucky, giving the Huskies two 5-star prospects, along with center Isaiah Stewart, as part of their top-10 recruiting class for 2019.

McDaniels, who’s listed at 6-11 and 185 pounds, is from Federal Way, Washington, and he’ll stay out West for college. He’s ranked as the No. 8 prospect in his recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The power forward took his five official visits to San Diego State (Oct. 12), Washington (Oct. 26), Texas (Nov. 2), Kentucky (Nov. 9) and UCLA (Nov. 16). He received offers from San Diego State, Texas, Arizona, Kansas and Oklahoma, among others.

McDaniels’ older brother, Jalen, played at San Diego State, where he averaged 15.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last season, before declaring for the NBA Draft.

The younger McDaniels played in the McDonald’s All-American Game, where he had seven points, two rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes.

Washington won the Pac-12 regular season title last season, going 27-9 on the year, ultimately losing to No. 1 seed North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
