Five-Star Offensive Tackle Kenyon Green Officially Signs His Letter of Intent

The No. 1 recruit in the state of Texas will stay in-state for college.

Five-star offensive tackle Kenyon Green, who’s ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect, No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in the Lone Star State, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, signed with Texas A&M on National Signing Day.

The Humble, Texas native will be the Aggies’ highest-ranked enrollee since Texas A&M landed three of the top 10 prospects in the 2014 recruiting class: defensive end Myles Garrett (No. 2), quarterback Kyle Allen (No. 8) and wide receiver Speedy Noil (No. 10).

Green committed to Texas A&M in early June following a pair of unofficial visits to College Station. He also had offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Oklahoma, among others.

The 6-4, 330-pound tackle earned an invitation to the Under Armour All-America Game. He has been timed running a 5.47-second 40-yard dash and a 5.01-second shuttle run, along with a 26-inch vertical leap.

247Sports Midlands region recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote that Green is a “wide-bodied, physical offensive lineman with potential position versatility.” The offensive tackle was named the Houston Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Year after his senior season.

Green is projected to be a future first-round NFL Draft pick, according to 247Sports, which compares him to Dallas Cowboys OT La’el Collins.
