Florida vs. East Carolina Score, Recap & Analysis

Florida vs. East Carolina score, recap, analysis and reaction from Saturday's showdown in The Swamp between the Gators and Pirates.

    Florida 31, East Carolina 24

    1. Just when it seemed like East Carolina was going to make a long day even tougher for the SEC, Joey Ivey sacked ECU’s Blake Kemp, forced the fumble, and the Gators survived.

    2. Florida could never get comfortable. Down 14-10 in the third, the Gators got a six-yard Demarcus Robinson touchdown catch, and Jalen Tabor returned an interception for a score and a 24-14 lead. The seven-yard Kelvin Taylor touchdown run in the fourth for a 31-17 lead was just enough to hang on.

    3. East Carolina made way too many mistakes, but it got in the position to keep it close with a Blake Kemp seven-yard pass to Bryce Williams to pull within seven. The Pirates had one more shot, but the Gator defense held on with the takeaway.
