Four-Star Wide Receiver Kyle Ford Makes School Commitment Official on National Signing Day

Four-star wide receiver Kyle Ford verbally committed to USC on Jan. 5 during the All-American Bowl, and he made his commitment official on National Signing Day as he inked his letter of intent to the Trojans.

Ford, the No. 38 prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings, was the second-highest ranked unsigned wide receiver in the 2019 recruiting class entering National Signing Day and he’s the highest-ranked signee in USC’s 2019 class.

The 6-2, 212-pound receiver chose USC over offers from Washington, Oregon and Arizona, among other schools. He took an official visit to the Trojans on Dec. 15, 2018, following previous visits to Colorado, Washington and Oregon.

Ford has been timed running a 4.65-second 40-yard dash and 4.25-second shuttle run. His vertical leap is 35 inches.

247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins compares Ford to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who played for USC from 2014 to 2016, and Biggins projects Ford as a future second-round NFL Draft pick.

“Has an NFL body right now and can physically overwhelm a player at the high school level,” Biggins wrote of Ford.

Ford played just five games during his senior season before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

He’ll give USC quarterback JT Daniels a physical receiving option as the Trojans try to improve upon their No. 55-ranked offense from last season, according to Football Outsiders’ S&P+ rankings.
