Fresno State vs. UNLV Prediction, Online Live Stream

Fresno State vs. UNLV prediction and online live stream information for Wednesday’s Mountain West Tournament game.

The No. 2 Fresno State Bulldogs will take on the No. 7 UNLV Rebels on Thursday in the quarterfinals on the Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas.

The Bulldogs (22-9, 13-5 MW) earned a bye to the quarterfinals and finished three games behind San Diego State for the league title, earning them the No. 2 seed. Fresno State is on a bit of a roll, having won six straight entering tournament play, including an 86-85 win over Utah State. Marvelle Harris, the 2015-16 Mountain West Player of the Year, had 34 points in the contest on 12-of-23 shooting. He added six rebounds, five assists and four steals to his stat line. Harris enters this one with a school-record 1,954 career points — three more than Melvin Ely’s previous mark.

The Rebels (18-14, 8-10 MW) are coming off a marathon contest against Air Force in the opening round that spanned three overtimes. UNLV came away with the exhausting 108-102 win, thanks to its free throw shooting. The Rebels canned 34 of their 44 free throws, which made up for their lack of ball control (23 turnovers). Ike Nawamu was one of two UNLV players to play all 55 minutes, and he finished with a game-high 38 points.

Thursday’s quarterfinal game will be the third meeting of the season between Fresno State and UNLV. The Bulldogs look to make it three straight wins over the Rebels this year with wins back on Dec. 30 and Feb. 6.

Prediction

The Rebels are down to five scholarship players and are now completely gassed after winning a three-overtime game. What’s there reward? A matchup with the conference’s best player.

UNLV really impressed by hanging on to defeat Air Force on Wednesday, but stopping Marvelle Harris is a tough obstacle to overcome. Harris has had time to rest thanks to the bye and will be ready to feast on a sluggish Rebel defense. He will look to couple his Player of the Year honor with a tournament championship as the ‘Dogs will take their first step in that direction. Fresno State will win this one big and advance to the semifinals on Friday.

Prediction: Fresno State 90, UNLV 75
