It’s that time of the year again when the world’s best basketball players gather in one spot to showcase their skills, which got me thinking about the future of the NBA. Players like Steph Curry and LeBron James currently dominate the NBA All-Star Weekend headlines, but what college basketball players could find themselves standing next to “Chef Curry” and “King James” in the years to come at the annual event?

Most Likely To Win Dunk Contest

Wyoming’s Josh Adams. He is one of the nation’s best scorers who also has serious bounce. Don’t be fooled by his size, at 6’2″ he can bang on opposing players and has the perfect height to showcase aerial creativity. Big guys rarely win the dunk contest anyway.

Most Likely To Win 3-Point Contest

This is a no brainer. Has to be Max Hooper from Oakland. Hooper’s taken 201 field-goal attempts this season and each one of those attempts has been from beyond the 3-point line. It’s safe to say he’s had a little practice. Did I mention he’s shooting an impressive 41-percent?

Most Likely To Win Skills Competition

I have to go with the nation’s most skilled player: LSU freshman phenom Ben Simmons. He has all the tools to get it done. Simmons can dish dimes with precision, so he won’t have issues with the passing portion of the competition that seems to always cost guys. Just imagine how effortlessly the big Aussie will maneuver through the contest.

Most Likely To Be Named MVP

Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield. He is the definition of the Most Valuable Player. I could see him pulling up from just over half court and nailing long ball after long ball as the crowd oohhhs and ahhhhs. And if it comes down to late-game heroics, Buddy knows how to deliver. It’s just what he does.

Most Likely To Be Snubbed

James Farr for Xavier. He delivers night in and night out for the Muskies yet no one knows who the guy is. The senior has vastly improved in his final campaign at XU. His transformation has been the difference and the reason why Xavier boasts it’s best team in history. These guys have a real chance at a national title and it’s because of the consistency and toughness Farr brings on a nightly basis.
