Georgia vs. UL-Lafayette Game Preview
When: Saturday, November 19 – 12:00 p.m. ET
Where: Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA
TV Broadcast: SEC Network
Georgia pulled off an upset of Auburn this past Saturday 13-7, as the defense dominated the Tigers, holding them to 164 total yards. The offense stalled in the red zone, but a pick-six to start the second half is all the Dawgs needed to get the victory.
UL-Lafayette is coming off a win against Georgia Southern to run its record to 4-5 on the season. Quarterback Anthony Jennings threw for 210 yards and ran for 96 yards and a touchdown to lead the offense.
What To Know About Georgia
Quarterback Jacob Eason played a mistake-free game against Auburn in the win, which was necessary in such a tight contest. The running of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel helped out, and they will look to have a field day against UL-Lafayette. It won’t be easy, as the Ragin’ Cajuns are No. 20 in the nation in rushing defense, allowing a mere 118.33 yards per game.
The Dawgs defense was stifling against Auburn, shutting down the running game and taking advantage of a hurt Tigers quarterback who could not throw the ball. Shutting down Jennings will be Georgia’s top priority.
What to Know About UL-Lafayette
As Jennings goes, so goes the UL-Lafayette offense, but running back Elijah McGuire could play a key role in moving the ball. Jennings has accounted for 13 total touchdowns this season, but has a knack for throwing interceptions, with seven picks this season.
Defensively, the Ragin’ Cajuns must stop the duo of Chubb and Michel if they want a shot to win. Eason is the future, but putting pressure on him could force the true freshman into some mistakes.
Advantages
Offense: Georgia. It is a shame that Chubb and Michel haven’t been able to stay healthy all season.
Defense: Georgia. Kirby Smart brought a little of Alabama with him to Athens, as the Dawgs defense has been nasty (No. 11 nationally in yards allowed).
Special Teams: Georgia. Kicker Rodrigo Blankenship has become a cult favorite for the Dawgs and their fans.
Coaching: Georgia. Sure, Mark Hudspeth could definitely out lift Kirby Smart in the weight room, but that doesn’t matter on the field.
Intangibles: Georgia. One rivalry win in the books. The Dawgs don’t want to lose momentum going into the Georgia Tech game.

Georgia vs. UL-Lafayette Prediction
It could very well be a letdown game for the Dawgs after the huge win against Auburn last Saturday and the Georgia Tech game facing them next week. Georgia will take a little time to wake up, but the overall talent will ultimately take over and give Kirby Smart a seventh win in his first season.
