Indiana 36, FIU 22 In Three Things

1. The Hoosiers scored the final 17 points, but the last touchdown came with FIU driving late with the game on the line and IU up seven. Jameel Cook had a huge game, closing it out with a 96-yard interception for a score to put the game away for the Hoosiers.

2. Indiana’s offense needed a while to get rolling, starting with two Griffin Oakes field goals and getting two short touchdown runs from Nate Sudfeld. However, FIU had a 22-19 lead in the fourth.

3. Alex McGough threw three touchdown passes including two to Thomas Owens from 21 and 75 yards out to keep the Golden Panthers in the game, and then lead it. And then it was all IU.


– Nate Sudfeld completed 19-of-33 passes for 234 yards and a score with a pick, and he ran for two touchdowns

– Jordan Howard ran 27 times for 159 yards. The offense ran and threw for over 200 yards.

– IU was flagged 11 times for 110 yards


– Alex McGough completed 21-of-37 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns with a very big interception

– Thomas Owens caught nine passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns

– FIU committed eight penalties and turned it over three times
