Iowa State will go up against Arkansas-Little Rock in an NCAA Tournament second-round game setting up the teams’ first meeting of the season.

The Cyclones, led by head coach Steve Prohm, finished their regular season with a 21-11 record that helped set them up for a first-round matchup with No. 13-seeded Iona. Iowa State handed the Gaels a 94-81 loss to advance to the second round.

In his first season as head coach of the Trojans, Chris Beard led his team to a 29-4 record before taking down the No. 5-seeded Purdue Boilermakers, 85-83, in the first round of the tourney. Arkansas-Little Rock won in nail-biting fashion after taking Purdue to two overtimes.

I want to pick Arkansas-Little Rock, but I think Little Rock’s big stones won’t be enough against Iowa State. The Cyclones will take care of the Trojans.

    Ken Bikoff

Iowa State’s experience and balance will be too much for an Arkansas-Little Rock team that won’t go quietly. Look for lots of points and a Cyclones win.

    Jordan Cornette

There’s a lot of offense in this one. Cream rises to the top, and there’s no answer for Georges Niang.
