    Playing Style

You might want to seek cover. At least, be careful where you step because Jackson Carman may be lurking. The kid is a mauler and will definitely leave you re-thinking your football career after he hits you. At 6-foot-6, 290 lbs Carman is a grizzly bear in a football uniform. He blocks until the whistle is blown and plays with great intensity.

He can do it all. He’s solid in pass protection and can absorb blows from edge rushers with ease. As a run blocker, he’s special. He chips off cleanly and climbs to the second level while paving a way for his tailback. He’d fit right in with Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes.

    What They’re Saying

“Ideal frame for the position. Tall and lean still with room to add weight. Good run blocker, gets solid pad level for his height. Can still improve in his pass pro technique, but has all the tools to be a top flight tackle in college. ” – Scout

“Carman was in Columbus at least a half-dozen times in 2016, and he’s become a familiar face to the Ohio State staff as they continue to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to secure a commitment from one of the nation’s elite.” – Eleven Warriors

    Recruitment Details

    Status: Uncommitted
Notable Offers: Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin

    Recruiting Overview

It’s no secret Ohio State is out in front for Carman’s eventual commitment. Many believe Carman will be the single-most-important recruit Meyer has targeted since taking the job as head coach of the Buckeyes. Carman is an Ohio native, and anyone can see he wants to spend his college football career close to home in Columbus.

Alabama doesn’t exactly need him thanks to the offensive tackles it brought in with the 2017 class. But Clemson could certainly find early playing time for Carman. It just doesn’t feel like the Tigers will have a shot. This recruitment screams scarlet and grey.
