Gill announced on Wednesday at a high school ceremony that he plans to play his college football for the home-state Buckeyes. He’s from Westerville, Ohio, which is just on the north side of Columbus.

Gill chose Ohio State over the likes of Florida, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA and USC, among others, and holds upwards of 30 offers.

Gill is ranked the No. 6 running back and No. 69 overall player in the 2018 class. He’s the No. 1 running back in the state of Ohio and Midwest region, and is an elusive playmaker who can make plays at both the running back and slot receiver positions.

He joins fellow four-star running back Brian Snead, out of Seffner, Florida, who’s ranked the No. 127 overall player and No. 9 recruit at his position.

Ohio State now has four commitments in its 2018 class, all of whom are rated four stars or better and ranked No. 127 or higher.

Gill is the second commitment for 2017 that Ohio State has picked up this year, the other being four-star safety Jaiden Woodbey out of Bellflower, California. Woodbey, the nation’s No. 36 overall player, committed on February 2.
