There are quite a few teams that would love to add a 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive end to the trenches and tell him to go get the quarterback. That’s why Jamarcus Chatman holds about 50 scholarship offers to play collegiate football.

However, on Monday night, the Rome, Georgia native decided to eliminate many of those programs from consideration and reveal his list of top schools. The 10 teams that made the cut varied and came from the ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC.

In alphabetical order, Chatman’s top schools are Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

The 4-star prospect is ranked as the No. 21 defensive end and No. 273 overall player in the country, but he’s also ranked as the No. 4 defensive end in the state of Georgia.

Of the schools to make Chatman’s list, Michigan’s offer was the most recent to come, as the Wolverines extended it on Thursday. Nonetheless, his phone has been ringing off the hook in the past three weeks, as that Michigan offer was the 11th he received this month.

Arkansas and Florida put theirs on the table within the first few days, and they were followed up by USC, Pitt, Ole Miss, Texas, LSU, Cal, Kentucky, and Marshall.

The last visit Chatman made, though, was on March 4 when he took an unofficial trip to Clemson. Unfortunately for Dabo Swinney’s Tigers, they are now on the outside looking in.
