Jarrett Stidham In Auburn For Recruiting Visit

Former Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham is in Auburn today as he weighs his options between the Tigers, Texas A&M, and Florida.

The race for transfer quarterback Jarrett Stidham is heating up, as the former Baylor Bear is spending time on the Auburn campus on Tuesday to presumably meet with coaches and current Tigers.

This is at least the third time that Stidham has made an appearance on The Plains, after having attended a preseason practice and the season opener against Clemson. The Tigers, who finished 8-4 after suffering on offense at both the beginning and backend of the season, are a major player in the Stidham sweepstakes.

Stidham took to Twitter to announce that he had arrived in Auburn.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback could make a huge difference in head coach Gus Malzahn’s offense, as he is a dual-threat that would fit perfectly in the read-option, hurry-up scheme. The offense is a lot like what Stidham ran while at Baylor. If he does happen to sign with Auburn, Stidham would be the presumable favorite to win the starting job over Sean White, John Franklin III, and Woody Barrett.

Texas A&M and Florida are also in play for the quarterback’s services, with the Aggies being the up there alongside Auburn as favorites. Stidham, who is from Stephensville, Texas, visited Aggies coaches in College Station earlier in November, while the Gators’ coaches have recently shown interest and contacted him.

Stidham is expected to make an announcement in December regarding where he will continue his football career. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
