Jermaine Eskridge Commits To USF Bulls

Jermaine Eskridge committed to South Florida on Thursday, giving the Bulls their 12th commit in the month of July.

Willie Taggart is driving that gold and green bus all over the recruiting trail right now.

Four-star prospect Jermaine Eskridge, the No. 19 wide receiver and No. 112 overall player in the class of 2018, committed to USF on Thursday while on an unofficial visit in Tampa.

He released a statement on Twitter regarding his commitment.

“Wow, what a great experience this has been. I love everything I have accomplished, but [without] further ado, I would like to announce I am committed to the University of South Florida.”

When he spoke to Campus Insiders at a 7-on-7 tournament at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida in June, Eskridge said the Florida Gators were his No. 1 team with the Miami Hurricanes not far behind.

Somewhere, somehow, Taggart and his staff made the 4-star receiver forget all about those in-state powers.

Eskridge, a former Kentucky commit, is now South Florida’s first commit of the 2018 recruiting cycle, but he’s simply the latest of a massive haul for Taggart. The Bulls head coach has reeled in 11 of his 12 commits for the 2017 class in July and now has the ball rolling for 2018 with the addition of Eskridge.

The pledge from the 6-foot-3, 185-pound wideout comes a day after USF added a commitment from 4-star athlete Bruce Judson. A former Ohio State commit, Judson made national headlines when he told the story of how Urban Meyer forgot his name when he was on an unofficial visit in Columbus.

The Bulls currently sit at No. 60 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings, and while the 2018 rankings are not out yet, Taggart can use Eskridge’s commitment as a spark for the rest of the cycle.
