Michigan Depth Chart A Mystery Heading Into Utah Game

The Michigan depth chart is being kept under wraps by Jim Harbaugh heading into the season-opening Utah Game.

The Michigan depth chart will be a mystery to everyone
except new head coach Jim Harbaugh, his assistants and the team heading into the season.

According to MLive.com’s Nick Baumgardner, Harbaugh has removed the depth chart from the game notes. Taking it a step further, SI’s Stewart Mandel reports that Harbaugh is also holding position leaders close to his chest, refusing to name any.

Despite his decision to share limited on-field decisions at this time, Harbaugh did open up later on Thursday during Michigan’s press conference about an off-field surprise he received. When asked about UM’s new equipment provider, Nike, and Michael Jordan contacting him after the Wolverines became the first Jumpman college football program, a giddy Harbaugh shared his priceless reaction to receiving a call from the G.O.A.T.

It’s been a long offseason of headline grabbers and posturing from the new Michigan regime. In one week’s time, with the season opener against Utah, fans, media members, and the opposition will get their first look this year’s Wolverines team.
