Bob Stoops was unable to keep Josh Proctor in the state of Oklahoma.

The talented safety committed to Ohio State on Saturday, giving the Buckeyes their second top commitment on the day that they are holding their spring football game.

The Class of 2018 product from Owasso, OK, is one of the best defensive backs in the country and is currently on an unofficial visit in Columbus. He picked the Buckeyes over several offers from top programs such as Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Texas.

While Ohio State made the defensive backfield a priority in its 2017 class, the team has been sending a lot of top talent to the NFL early. So it’s essential that Urban Meyer and his staff keep the cupboard stocked with cornerbacks and safeties.

Before Meyer and Co. landed the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, the Buckeyes received a pledge from four-star offensive tackle Max Wray, who is one of the better offensive linemen in the 2018 class.

Wray and Proctor give the Buckeyes their sixth and seventh pledges for the 2018 class, and they have a chance to make a real run at having the top-ranked class in the country if they can keep up this momentum.
