    1. Joe Hubener found Kody Cook for a 31-yard touchdown to give Kansas State the lead in the third overtime, but failed to convert on the two-point conversion. Louisiana Tech had its shot, but four Jeff Driskel passes failed to click, and the Wildcats survived. The Bulldogs forced overtime on a 45-yard Jonathan Barnes field goal. In the first OT, the two teams traded touchdown passes with Dominique Heath catching a 22-yarder for Kansas State and Trent Taylor making a six-yard scoring play for Louisiana Tech. The two teams traded field goals in the second overtime.

    2. The Wildcats kept stalling early, settling for Cantele field goals from 33, 38 and 20 yards out before overtime, while the Bulldogs got field goals from Barnes from 25 and 39 yards before the 45-yarder to force overtime.

    3. Driskel ran for two touchdowns and threw another, while Hubener threw three touchdown passes with two to Cook.

    Kansas State

    – Joe Hubener completed 15-of-26 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for nine yards.

    – Justin Silmon ran 24 times for 114 yards.

    – The Wildcats were outgained 451 yards to 355.

    Louisiana Tech

    – Jeff Driskel completed 30-of-51 passes for 314 yards and a score, and ran 19 times for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

    – Kenneth Dixon ran 17 times for 81 yards.

    – The Bulldogs converted 4-of-18 third down chances, and 3-of-4 on fourth downs.
