Kansas vs. Maryland predictions and bold picks for Thursday's Sweet 16 showdown in Louisville.

Kansas vs. Maryland predictions for Thursday’s Sweet 16 showdown in Louisville.

If you’re looking for star power, the Kansas vs. Maryland matchup in the Sweet 16 has what you need. Wayne Selden Jr. and Melo Trimble headline two stacked rosters with multiple future NBA players.

The Jayhawks are the perceived No. 1 team in the country  (not to mention the tournament’s No.1-overall seed). They’re expected to win it all, and they proved why by cruising through the first two rounds. Bill Self’s team beat Austin Peay by 26 points and then sent UConn packing by 12.

The Terps had a scare against South Dakota State in the first round, but held on to win by five points. Maryland followed that up by handling Hawaii by 13 points in the second round.

Winner of this game will take on the winner of Villanova vs. Miami. Below are the bold Kansas vs. Maryland predictions for Thursday night’s game.

    Pete Fiutak

I’ll keep picking against Kansas until I get this right. Maryland was my Final Four pick from the start – you ALWAYS go with the talented veteran backcourt.

    Robert Judin

Melo Trimble won’t get any help on offense, and Kansas will advance.

    Glenn McGraw

Melo Trimble outperforms Wayne Selden Jr., but Kansas wins by double digits.

    Jonathan Bass

Maryland’s starting five all score in double-figures, yet the Terps still lose by double-digits.
