Kent State vs. North Carolina A&T Game Preview
When: Saturday, Sept. 10 – 6 p.m. ET
What To Know About Kent State
There’s definitely going to be some growing pains. True freshman Justin Agner tossed two picks, and redshirt freshman Mylik Mitchell completed only half of his 12 pass as the pair combined for 129 yards. They also ran 22 times between them with a finishing line of 34 yards. The early struggles were expected, but they’re learning. Fellow freshman Justin Rankin had a solid day with 82 yards on 13 carries, but the Golden Flashes’ only score came on a fumble return that tied it at 13 late in the second quarter. The offense stagnated in the second half in the 33-13 loss.
What to Know About North Carolina A&T
The Aggies went 10-2 last year and are bidding to reach the FCS playoffs this season. It’s tough to tell if they’re for real after one week of beating up on a Division II team. The numbers look great – outgained St. Augustine’s 428-159, balanced rushing attack and two touchdown passes from Lamar Raynard. But it was against St. Augustine’s. We’ll see how they fare against an FBS team.
Offense: Kent State – Rankin has the potential to be a special back.
