Kentucky vs. Stony Brook picks for the NCAA Tournament's East Region first-round game. Find out who's predicted to win and continue on to the second round.
It’s magical how things seem to come together for John Calipari, isn’t it? After dawdling around for the majority of the season, his Kentucky Wildcats are starting to hit their stride now that we’re in March. Heck, even basketball analyst Charles Barkley called it Cal’s best coaching performance during his Kentucky tenure. Granted, Barkley is an NBA guy (no matter what he plays on television during March), but the guy still knows good ball.
Stony Brook will be looking to catch the Wildcats off-guard and peeking ahead to a potential second-round matchup against Indiana. If they’re to knock off the SEC Tournament champions, they’ll have to reign in Tyler Ulis, who’s finally living up to the hype. The same goes for center Skal Labissiere. And don’t forget about Alex Poythress, the rare heralded Calipari recruit who stayed through his senior season and is now healthy and dominating opponents.
Here’s a look at Campus Insiders’ Kentucky vs. Stony Brook picks for the opening round.
Four Final Fours in the last five years? Make it five for a team that has its edge – and its jacked up head coach – rolling at just the right time. Coach Cal was up in arms over his team’s seed, but it will be worse when the Wildcats fall to UNC in the Sweet 16.
One of the best back courts in America, Tyler Ullis is a phenomenal guard and I’m dreading my Hoosiers having to meet BBN in the Round of 32.
Stony Brook will see the Big Blue and wilt. The Wildcats are rolling.
Kentucky’s backcourt is nearly unstoppable. The ‘Cats roll.
