LaVall Jordan has been hired by the Milwaukee Panthers as their new men's basketball coach.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has hired LaVall Jordan as its new men’s basketball coach.

Michigan assistant men’s basketball coach LaVall Jordan has been hired by the Milwaukee Panthers.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported the news on Thursday morning.

Jordan spent six years with the Michigan Wolverines, coaching under John Beilein. He helped lead Michigan to two Big Ten titles and five NCAA tournament berths, including a title game (2013) and Elite Eight (2014) appearance.

Prior to being hired by Beilein, Jordan spent 2007-10 on the Iowa Hawkeyes staff and 2003-07 on the staff of his alma mater, the Butler Bulldogs.

Jordan played guard for Butler from 1998-2001.

He succeeds Rob Jeter at Milwaukee, who led the Panthers to two NCAA tournament berths from 2005-16. Jeter was fired by Milwaukee in mid-March.
